Our Choral Tradition

The repertoire of the Anglican Singers follows a tradition inspired by English Choral Music – an incredible selection of music, covering centuries of the most wonderful and inspiring works. The music is uplifting and spiritually nourishing.

This treasury of choral music is most often found in the Cathedrals of the United Kingdom and is rooted in a deep tradition of worship. From Choral Evensongs to Christmas, Canticles to Carols, Anthems, Psalms, Chants, Motets… its a wonderful journey through some of the best Choral music.

The Anglican Singers’ range of English and European choral music means we visit a variety of wonderful settings for our concerts and services. We sing regularly in Haarlem including Eucharist and Evensong Choral Services as well as an annual Choral Evensong at the Grote de St Bavo Kerk. At Christmas we have a busy schedule of carol singing and Nine Lessons and Carols services. We also lead Eucharist and Choral Evensong services as visiting choirs to other churches in the Netherlands. In the summer, qualifying members can join the European Cathedral Singers (ECS) to sing as a guest choir in a Cathedral in the United Kingdom in the annual ECS Cathedral week.
